One Missouri teen was so determined to get to school after he missed the bus that he went door-to-door to neighbors to ask for a ride.
Kansas City resident Brian Smith wrote on Facebook on Aug. 18 that he was awoken that morning to “banging on the door.”
When he opened it, the teen told him that he missed the bus and no one would take him to school.
Although Smith was surprised by the brazen request, he didn’t hesitate – nor brush his teeth – before he grabbed his car keys and slipped on some shoes, he wrote.
"A young kid banging on the door I wake up Like WTF!! I open it like what up Lil homie (I've never seen him before) ……
Smith posted a photo of the teen as he exited the car and headed to class.
At the end of his post, Smith posted an message encouraging the young man to “GO GET THAT EDUCATION…”
As of Friday, Smith’s post has been shared more than 140,000 times. The comments section is filled with people giving kudos to Smith for his sense of community.
