No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, chances are pretty high you’re not exactly thrilled with the 2016 frontrunners. Hillary Clinton is the living breathing embodiment of political ambition while Donald Trump is, well, Donald Trump. The primary outcomes have left many feeling hopeless and wallowing in a pit of despair & fear. Enter Pastor Andy Stanley. He has a jarring message for anyone allowing themselves to be overcome by these emotions. Stanley specifically went after those who are 45 and older for the message they are portraying to younger generations: “You have fixed your eyes on a political system. You have fixed your eyes on a political leader. You have fixed your eyes on the good old days. You have fixed your eyes on the economy. You are growing weary and you need to knock it off and I’ll tell you why: you are scaring the children.” Stanley explained how this fearful attitude directly contradicts God’s message and promises – namely that He is in control of all things. “Here’s the cue we’re giving them (younger generations): Oh my goodness if we don’t get the right guy in office it’s the end of the world.
