‘Fixer Upper’ Star Chip Gaines’ Touching Message to Wife Joanna: ‘You Are Fascinating in Every Way’

It’s no secret that “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are deeply in love, with the two frequently speaking openly about their marital bliss and how they help one another grow spiritually, personally and professionally.

That’s probably why Chip Gaines’ simple — yet sweet — message to Joanna on her birthday this week sparked so much attention.

“Jo, you are the best at everything you do,” he wrote in an Instagram post published on Wednesday. “Watching you do your thing is one of my greatest joys.”

And Chip Gaines wasn’t done there, going on to write, “You are fascinating in every way, and like the rest of the world…I can’t wait to see what’s next. Happy birthday, young lady!”

The post quickly amassed nearly 200,000 likes and captured plenty of media attention.

In a separate message posted to Twitter on Wednesday, Chip Gaines heaped similar praise upon his wife, again complimenting her and wishing her a happy birthday.

“You are the absolute best at everything you do,” he wrote. “And all I can say is, you are fascinating to watch.”

As Faithwire previously reported, the husband and wife sat down late last year to record a video for “I Am Second” in which they discussed their marriage, their personal traits and what they most admire about one another; the discussion also included the impact each have had on the other’s Christian faith.

While Chip said his wife has helped him appreciate structure in his relationship with God, Joanna said Chip has helped her see that growing in one’s spiritual journey won’t always be a comfortable experience.

“I have learned so much about order and structure and processes through my wife and God is all of those things to me now,” Chip said. “But at the beginning, God was just chaotic to me — he was wild, he was untamed, he was unruly, and I liked that.”

As for Joanna, she said Chip has helped her discover “this reality of what it’s like to follow Christ,” saying that some parts of the experience will  “push you to a place of discomfort.”
