This past weekend, Christian actor Chris Pratt received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the unveiling ceremony, the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” star said that he owes all his professional success, including this recent achievement, to God and to his family.
In his speech, the actor talked about what his life was like when he first moved to Hollywood almost 20 years ago. At that time, Pratt lived a block away from the Walk of Fame. He noted that while he was living in the area, he watched as a man varnished the Hollywood stars on a daily basis. Two decades later, Pratt shared how grateful he is to have a star.
The actor described the incredible role his mother played in supporting him long before he earned big-screen fame.
“I’m a man of faith, and I believe that God works in mysterious ways and gives us signs and gifts in life —and those gifts oftentimes come in the form of people,” he continued. “[My mother] gave absolutely everything she had to raise us, every fiber of her being. And oftentimes, we weren’t cash-rich, but we were never love-poor. You gave everything and you were always proud of me, way before this.”
Pratt included a special shout-out to his wife, Anna Faris, saying how much he loves her and thanking her for everything she has given him, especially his “greatest star in the galaxy,” their son.
Last week, the Christian actor shared on social media a photograph of his Hollywood star being made, along with the Bible verse, Psalm 126:3.
