Young women across the country are being bombarded with constant content, from social media to television and beyond, devaluing intimacy, love, faith and family — that’s the bad news. Here’s the good news — listen up dads — you have the power to protect your daughters from this constant barrage of lies. In a recent post on Instagram, friend of Faithwire, Dale Partridge, lays out some simple, but IMPORTANT, advise for dads.

“Men, we are our son’s first hero but we are our daughter’s first love. Many fathers aren’t wise enough to realize that the more you love, lead and elevate your daughter in the present, the less available she’ll make herself to weak men in the future. But when you ignore her or are too busy for her or reduce her, you make her future accessible to anyone—as long as they’re better than you. In other words, you set the standard by which she will judge all men. Show her how valuable she is when she’s young and she’ll never question it when she’s grown.”

In a culture that praises casual sex over courtship and treats women like a commodity of little value, fathers have an opportunity to raise the bar for their daughters through their words and actions.
