Talk about a surprise of a lifetime.

A female sailor who gave birth on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier received one when she realized her abdominal pain was actually associated with child birth.

The spokesperson for the Navy, Commander Bill Urban confirmed that a 7-pound baby girl was born on Sunday to the unidentified woman.

According to news reports, the woman was on the ship while it was operating in the Persian Gulf before being moved to a hospital located in Bahrain.

Both mom and baby are “healthy and doing well,” a Navy spokesperson stated.

ABC News reported earlier that the sailor was unaware that she was pregnant.

Huffington Post reported that the female sailor’s supervisor was also not aware.
