Can You Guess Which Parent’s Genes are Responsible for a Child’s Intelligence?

Now there is something to go along with the saying, “you get it from your momma” — and that’s a child’s intelligence, according to Psychology Spot, which states, researchers, “mothers are mainly responsible for transmitting intelligence genes.”

Adding that, the heart of this idea comes from “conditioning genes,” which behave differently depending on where they come from.

For instance, “some of these ‘conditioned genes’ work only if they come from the mother. If that same gene is inherited from the father, it is deactivated. Obviously, other genes work the opposite and are activated only if they come from the father.”

It was thought, as recently as a few years ago, that intelligence comes from a mother and a father — but with the new evidence in, that theory is officially debunked.
