Some 20 years ago, Susan Thompson was thrilled to learn she was pregnant. Doctors didn’t share in the excitement, however.

Turns out Susan wasn’t pregnant with just one child, but five. As she explained in a Facebook post gone viral after it was shared on the Love What Matters page, there was concern and pressure.

“Immediately, my doctor talked to me about selective reduction. When I said no, he sent me to a specialist who repeatedly asked me to consider reducing my pregnancy to triplets or even twins.”

She continued:

“This went on for several months. My husband and I never considered this, not for a second. God had given us these tiny children and He would take care of them. 20 years later I look back and can’t imagine our lives without any of them. After graduation, three joined the military to serve our country and two are pursuing careers in the medical field. They are all responsible adults who love God and make this world a better place. I chose to save their lives and now they are saving the lives of others.”

As you can see in the photo below, clearly she made a wise decision:

Amazing to see these beautiful lives that might have never been. Susan’s story inspired others with similar experiences to chime in.

Fiona Ho posted a picture of her three boys and added:

“Doctors suggested selective reduction with my triplets too..And I’m glad I didn’t! They are the cutest babies ever! But I can also understand that doctors must advise patients of potential risks. It’s a very personal decision so just do what you feel right.”

Pat Maggio said posted a picture of her twin girls and said:

“I was pregnant with twins when the doctor told me I should abort them because my first child had heart problems. Needless to say it would of been a major mistake.”

Nikki Krauss shared a darling photo of her daughter.

“I was 16 just out of 9th grade when I found out I was pregnant I went to the doctors and the nurse kept bringing up abortion saying I’m going to ruin my life and hers. Then smiled when we thought I was having a miscarriage. She is a beautiful 6 year old girl now and my whole world along with her siblings.”

Madelyn Mastrapa shared the courage her sister-in-law showed when pressured to have an abortion:

“Same thing happen w my brother and his wife they refused to abort any of them… Here is our families pride and joy couldn’t imagine life without them.”

Deborah Saas, also a mother of triplets, summed things up nicely alongside a photo of her dapper sons:

“Mother of triplets here… you did the right thing in trusting God.”
