Far from the luxuries of Trump Tower in Manhattan, the tiny Slovenian town where Melania Trump grew up is celebrating her ascension to the White House.

Trump’s hometown is Sevnica, an industrial town of just 5,000 residents. Her husband’s election to the highest office in the land inspired the town to compose a special ode for her, performed by a local band.

A breakfast composed of yogurt, fruit and sweets was also named for Trump, ABC News reported.

Trump’s closest friend from her childhood, Mirjana Jelacnic, said the entire town watched the U.S. presidential results from a bar, waving American flags as they did so.

Trump, who was born Melanija Knavs, didn’t always live privileged settings. She was born in then-communist Sevnica in 1970. She spent her formative years living in a third-floor apartment of a sparse building in the industrial part of town.

Now 46, Trump has become a local hero since her husband, Donald Trump, became the Republican presidential nominee.

At dawn on Wednesday, when it became clear that Donald would become the United States’ president elect, they clinked champagne glasses to toast the couple, calling Donald the “victorious Sevnica’s son-in-law,” Jelancic said.

The celebration extended outside the small town, with Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar tweeting a congratulatory message to the Trumps.

In a statement, Cerar said he is “sure” that the “president elect already knows a lot about Slovenia.”

When Donald Trump takes office in January, his wife will be become the second foreign-born First Lady in history. First Lady Louisa Adams was born in London.

Another one of Trump’s childhood friends called her life a “true fairy-tale story.”

“A beautiful and wonderful Melania, a girl from Sevnica, will be in the White House,” said Dijana Kosor, who also modeled alongside Trump. “She will make a great first lady.”

Another celebration will be thrown for the Trumps for the inauguration, said Jelacnic, who said she was “drunk with happiness” for her friend.
