Following the breaking news that both George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush have been hospitalized, a note from the form President to incoming Donald Trump began to make its way across the Internet.

The note, dated Jan. 10, 2017, is a shining example of why the former president and first lady are still beloved figures across the country.

Neither are able to attend the inauguration this week, but despite their opposition to the candidate, their absence isn’t out of protest. In fact, the former leader of the free world offers the incoming Republican nothing but the best, and goes as far to extend a helping hand.

“I want you to know that I wish you the best as you begin this incredible journey of leading our great county. If I can ever be of help, please let me know.”

Always a class act.
