Thousands of Christians from across the U.S. are flocking to Orlando, Florida, this week for the NRB International Christian Media Convention, an annual gathering of faith-based communicators in film, media and related fields.

The massive event, held at the Orlando World Center Marriott, will run Monday to Thursday, and will feature scores of well-known Christian authors, speakers and celebrities. Participants will attend a range of events, including training sessions that focus on a plethora of issues, ranging from religious freedom concerns to Christians’ growing presence in Hollywood.

And Faithwire will be on the scene to cover the event in its entirety. We’ll also join Pure Flix Digital on the convention floor to record episodes of “Pure Talk,” a streaming panel show focusing on faith, culture and entertainment (stay tuned to Faithwire.com and our Facebook page in the coming days for episodes and clips from the conference).

This year’s conference will include appearances from well-known individuals like Eric Metaxas, R.C. Sproul, Lee Strobel, Tony Evans and many others.

In addition to famous pastors and Christian media figures, the conference also caters to the faithful’s growing interest in film and entertainment, with Hollywood heavyweights like filmmaker DeVon Franklin and actors Corbin Bernsen and Kevin Sorbo scheduled to appear. And the event will include a “Film & Entertainment Summit” for the third consecutive year.

“If you are a Christian working in the film and entertainment industry, or if you’re an aspiring filmmaker, this is the event for you,” NRB president and CEO Dr. Jerry A. Johnson said in a statement. “Our event offers unique face-to-face networking opportunities, as well as invaluable insights from those who have found much success in Hollywood.”

The event is run by the National Religious Broadcasters, a nonpartisan, nonprofit association of Christian communicators. For more information about the conference, go here. And be sure to stay tuned to Faithwire for more.
