Florida Georgia Line is one of the biggest acts in country music, so it should come as no surprise that fans were thrilled when Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley took to social media earlier this summer to share they are pregnant with their first child.
“We’ve had such a hard time not telling everybody for the last few months because we are SO excited…. WE ARE PREGNANT,” the musician excitedly wrote on Instagram on June 7. “Holy cow we’re going to be parents. God is so good and we can’t wait for this next chapter of our life.”
Later that week, the couple posted a video of their emotional gender reveal party, in which they learned they were expecting a little boy by cutting into a cake that revealed a blue interior.
“We can’t believe our first baby is a boy,” Hubbard shared on June 10.
Not so fast…
Flash forward to Friday, and the Hubbards were back on Instagram to offer a very interesting update. As it turns out, the blood tests that initially revealed the couple is having a boy were wrong. They are, in fact, pregnant with a baby girl.
Gods got jokes……After thinking we are having a boy for the last few months, turns out the blood test was wrong and we're actually having a little girl. Woe… so many emotions but really really excited about this next chapter even if God does like throwing us a curve ball every now and then. Just keeping us on our toes. #daddysgirl
“God’s got jokes,” Tyler wrote alongside a picture of his wife’s growing belly. “After thinking we are having a boy for the last few months, turns out the blood test was wrong and we’re actually having a little girl. So many emotions, but really, really excited about this next chapter even if God does like throwing us a curve ball every now and then. Just keeping us on our toes.”
On her account, Hayley is also took the mixup in stride, shared an adorable photo of her husband getting to know his little girl.
“Baby Hubbard’s keeping us on our toes & has another announcement to make!! It’s not a boy! It’s a GIRL,” she wrote. “Our hearts are exploding with joy all over again! And shock! And excitement!”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
