Pastor Hillary Clinton? That appears the be one possible future for the former First Lady and Democrat Presidential nominee, according to Reverend Dr. Bill Shillady, who counseled Clinton during her latest campaign run.
Shillady, who served as a spiritual mentor, has just published a book entitled, “Strong For a Moment Like This: The Daily Devotions of Hillary Rodham Clinton.” The book features hundreds of devotions written for Clinton personally, as well as her own notes, portions of speeches and more.
The most revealing tidbit to come out of this is that at one point, Clinton admitted she “thought all the time” about becoming and ordained Methodist minister, but felt it may hinder her political dreams. In the Atlantic, Emma Green reported Clinton told Shillady she had a “secret dream” to preach — and her mentor appears to think she should pursue it.
“Given her depth of knowledge of the Bible and her experience of caring for people and loving people, she’d make a great pastor,” Shillady said.
Clinton did write the forward the book she calls “inspirational” but her recent comments on preaching could just be fodder for book sales.
