When heading off to college for the first time, it’s typical for newly-minted adults to “forget” to call their parents on a regular basis. For moms, this can be particularly trying as they struggle with letting their babies chart their own course in the real world.
But one new college mom decided she wasn’t going to stand for her son, Liam’s, lack of communication. He probably wished he had just picked up the phone a time or two because his mother’s video message to him soon went viral.
Liam’s mom (name not specified in the video) recorded 5-minute message for her son that has now been viewed over 18 million times — and for good reason. In the sarcastic-laden recording, she reminds her son that not only did she give birth to him, but he had to be cut out of her body via C-section and was then attached her hip for the next several years.

“Do you remember me? I’m your mommy,” she quips, asking as well if he remembers that she’s the one who fed him for the first 18 years of his life.
She then reminds him of the many hours they spent going to karate classes and the sacrifices she made for his hobbies and schooling.
Mom then gives Liam the benefit of the doubt, wondering if perhaps he’s just forgotten how to use the phone. So she moves on to a step-by-step tutorial of how to pick up the phone (“you know, the one that mommy and daddy bought ya!”) and call her.
After the sassy few minutes of sarcasm, she shuts off the video and leaves the rest of us wondering how long it took Liam to call her after he saw the video!
