President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law told CBN’s “Faith Nation” this week that she believes Trump’s “softer side gets lost” when it comes to the media’s coverage of him; she also described him as a “man of God.”
“His compassion gets lost a lot of times. He’s a very direct guy,” Lara Trump, wife of Trump’s son, Eric, told the show. “He says exactly what he’s thinking. He doesn’t sugarcoat things. He cares so much about this country, about the people of this country.”
Lara Trump also spoke about Trump’s faith, saying that the commander-in-chief has always deeply valued the Almighty.
“He’s a man of God. His faith, I know, has always been important to him,” she said. “And I think that people really see him in a very different way … a lot of times his softer side gets lost.”

Trump, who has said he is a life-long Christian, has oft-times seen his faith come under scrutiny and fire, though some of those closest to him have mirrored his daughter-in-law’s statements.
