Celebrities are using their fortune and ability to influence the masses to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Hurricane Harvey caused historic flooding in Houston after it made landfall late Friday night as a Category 4 storm. On Wednesday morning, the tropical storm made landfall again in southwest Louisiana.

Tens of thousands of home have been destroyed, and several thousand people rescued from flood-ravaged neighborhoods. Now-homeless victims are piling into overcrowded shelters.

Several celebrities are facilitating a sense of charity by vowing to donate huge sums of money to the Hurricane Harvey relief effort. At the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Katy Perry even urged attendees and viewers alike to donate to the Red Cross.

“We’re praying for your safety in the days to come and stay with you as you rebuild, because we’re all in this together,” Perry said.

These are the celebrities donating to Hurricane Harvey victims:

Sandra Bullock

A-list actress Sandra Bullock has pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross to help victims of the storm, E! News reported.

Bullock has a home in Austin and has quietly donated more than $6 million to charities over the years.

“There are no politics in eight feet of water….I’m just grateful I can do it,” Bullock said in a statement. “We have to take care of one another.”
