A heart-pumping dashcam video that shows a falling tree nearly crush and obliterate a moving vehicle during Hurricane Irma is going viral — and when you take a gander, you’ll understand why. Let’s just say that calling the incident a “close call” is an understatement.
The clip, which was recorded on Monday afternoon, shows an SUV driving along a Georgia road when a tree suddenly falls right in front of the moving car, nearly causing it to flip over and briefly sending the vehicle into the air.
It all happened in a split second, totally shocking driver April Baxter, as The Daily Mail reported.
“I … just closed my eyes and hit the brakes,” she told WSB-TV. “I closed my eyes and the airbags popped. It was all so fast, very fast … I thought, ‘This is the end. I’m done.'”
Footage of the incident was captured by a man named Michael Head; he was driving behind Baxter when the incident unfolded. Baxter said that she was on her way to safety at her sister-in-law’s house, as Irma made its way through Georgia.
