“Duck Dynasty” star Missy Robertson has partnered with Faithwire.com to launch “The Overcomers,” a new podcast that features some of the most harrowing, tragic and ultimately uplifting stories imaginable.
Each episode focuses in on a person who has overcome some of the toughest odds imaginable — individuals who have not given up, regardless of what life has thrown their way.

Brandy, the first woman who is introduced on “The Overcomers,” had a rough start in life and it impacted her through adulthood.
This was how her life started: “I was two years old. My mom left me and my little brother on the doorstep. She left me at the dope man’s house for collateral and she never came back…”
And that’s just the beginning of her journey, though her life was eventually totally transformed after an encounter with God.
Robertson, who used the hashtag #GodIsReal in announcing the podcast’s launch, is hoping that Brandy’s story, among others’ testimonies, can inspire others to persevere.
“I want the world to hear from some of these women, because … I’m amazed that they’ve overcome,” Robertson said at the start of the episode, going on to speak of the impact that Brandy’s story had on her. “It’s the most horrific story I’ve ever heard to my face.”
