TV host Kathie Lee Gifford said in an interview with CBN News this week that Tuesday’s deadly terror attack in New York City — a horrific assault that left 8 people dead and nearly a dozen injured — was the “antithesis of Jesus.”

Gifford also proclaimed that “Jesus is always the answer” and offered up a response to those who might question why a good God would allow such diabolical evil to fester.

“If I didn’t believe that God is sovereign in all things I would have been in the looney bin years ago,” she said. “His ways are not our ways, his thoughts are not our thoughts. We have to trust that he has it in control, even when it seems that everything is out of control.”

Gifford also pointedly stated that it wasn’t the Lord who was responsible for what unfolded — and that no person who had the “love of God” in his or her heart would engage in that kind of evil.

“Terrorism did this, not God,” she added. “People say to me, how could a loving God allow this to happen? ‘I always say, well a loving God loved us enough to give us freedom of will.'”

In the end, she said some people choose to use their free will to hurt others, while others use it for positive ends.
