A woman who was on her way to have an abortion to terminate what she assumed was merely a “clump of cells” recently reversed course after seeing her baby’s heartbeat on an ultrasound.

The woman, identified only as “Abby,” was reportedly walking toward an abortion clinic when someone from pro-life group Save the Storks tapped her on the shoulder and offered her a free ultrasound.
Abby decided to take the woman up on the offer and went with her to a nearby Save the Storks bus to receive the ultrasound.
“It’s free,” she thought when the woman offered it. “What do I have to lose?”
She had recently had another abortion and did not have the chance to see her unborn baby. So, when she heard the woman say “there’s your baby’s heartbeat,” she was shocked.
“Wait! There’s a heartbeat?” Abby thought before realizing that she had been deprived of this information before her previous procedure. Then, Abby broke down in tears and shared her story.

A recent testimonial published by the group featured the story of a woman who recounted her decision to keep her baby after coming quite close to having an abortion.
The article, penned by the unnamed woman, opened with her explaining how surprised she was to learn of her pregnancy.
“The gynecologist put her hand on mine as she told me I was pregnant. I was in shock,” she wrote. “I couldn’t have a baby right now with everything that was happening in my life — large work commitments, a possible wedding in the future, and my mom’s health. I could think of a hundred more reasons why a baby just wouldn’t work.”
