The majority of the snow — 34 inches — fell on Christmas day, alone, making it the most snowy day ever on record in Eerie.
Then, at least another 16 inches fell from midnight through 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, accounting for the most snowfall over a two-day period in Pennsylvania’s history, KDKA-TV reported.
According to the Weather Channel, the previous, two-day record was in Morgantown from March 20-21, 1958, when 44 inches fell. And the snow isn’t anywhere near done, as the outlet reported that more is expected to come through Wednesday evening.
