Tim Tebow is gearing up for his incredible “Night to Shine” events that take place all across the globe in just a few days.
What started as just a small idea has grown into a massive, global event helping tens of thousands of people be truly celebrated, praised and loved when normally they are brushed aside. These prom night parties are laid on by the Tim Tebow Foundation and are geared towards people with special needs; they are an amazing evening where those who are often overlooked can be celebrated and championed.
“Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 9, 2018, more than 540 churches from around the world will come together to host Night to Shine for approximately 90,000 honored guests through the support of 175,000 volunteers!” the Tim Tebow Foundation wrote on its website.
Tebow, a former NFL Quarterback, took to Facebook Live this week to share his heart and vision for the wonderful events.

“I have such a heart for people with special needs. It is amazing to see what can happen in their life when they get truly celebrated for the first time,” he said. “They walk down a red carpet and there are people cheering on both sides.”

“Find out where your local Night to Shine is,” Tebow said, who encouraged supporters to get behind the campaign. He also said that the impact on those who help out is absolutely immense. “Honestly, we want to make an impact – but it changes my life too,” Tebow added.

The Night to Shine events coincides with Valentines – a time when people head out on dates and declare their “love” for one another. But it has all become quite consumer-focused and tacky. Tim wants to promote a different form of love during these special events.
“A lot of people are searching for a self-gratifying form of love, but we really believe that a sacrificial love is more fulfilling than anything else we can do,” he said.
It wouldn’t be right if no-one asked about the upcoming Superbowl, right? So, is Tebow for the Patriots or the Eagles?
“It’s the Patriots. It’s Tom Brady – he’s the best of all time,” Tebow concluded.
“Tim, there are so few role models for today’s kids. Thank you for standing out and being one!” one person commented on the video.
