Christian singer Jamie Grace Harper has exclusively shared with Faithwire photos from her engagement, revealing that her fiancé’s proposal was the “most incredible moment of my life.”
“We met over a year ago and started courting late last year,” she said of her relationship with Aaron Collins. “He was very intentional about wanting to pursue me and get to know me and it has not been a typical dating relationship.”
Harper explained the importance that her parents’ marriage has played in her life, noting that it has helped her see a positive reflection of what matrimony truly looks like.
With that in mind, she and Collins decided early on to meet one another’s parents.
“I truly admire my parents and their marriage. They courted for seven weeks before getting engaged and have been married for nearly 30 years,” Harper revealed. “And my sister, Morgan, is celebrating seven years of marriage after courting her now husband Patrick for 8 months.”
The singer said that she never felt pressure to replicate these relationships, but that she is in awe of how God brought her and Collins together, explaining that his proposal on Jan. 24 was “the most incredible moment of my life.”
“I’m so grateful that Aaron is in my life, and I am blown away when I think about how God worked all of this out in a way that I could have never imagined.” she said. “One of my favorite moments in all of this, is when my dad told me that he is truly everything that he’s ever prayed for for me. He calls him son. Aaron‘s mom calls me daughter. Our parents are our greatest cheerleaders and encouragers.”
Harper added that “waiting is worth it” and said that the couple is excited to live their lives “together forever.”
