Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, now an all-star baseball player, has made no secret of his Christian faith and now he’s authored a new book urging people to live with purpose.

Tebow’s MiLB season with the New York Mets may have been cut short after he broke his hand in late July, but he’s still moving ahead with his latest book, “This Is the Day.”

So excited about my new book #ThisIsTheDay! I hope this book will encourage you to stop putting off for tomorrow what God is calling you to do today. Oh, and how cool is this? Pre-order today and get a #SoGood #ThisIsTheDay wristband!

In a video promoting the forthcoming book, Tebow said, “We just don’t know how many days we’re going to have. That’s why it’s so important to live each day as if it’s on purpose, to live each day as if it’s the last day that you have.”

“Yes, that sounds cliché, but what if we did it?” he continued. “Imagine the impact that we would have, imagine the meaning and the purpose that we would have. That’s why I wrote ‘This is the Day.’”

Tebow said he hopes the book inspires readers to “live with open hands, to live with open eyes, to be aggressive, to believe in themselves, to pursue their dreams, to pursue their passions.”

The famous athlete has been promoting this message recently. In June, he said people should never aim for “normal,” fearing an effort to exceed expectations could result in failure.

“I would rather be an outlier and fail,” he explained at the time, “because when you’re an outlier, when you don’t do what everyone else is doing, exactly how everybody else is doing it, you at least have a chance to be special.”

Tebow has most certainly practiced what he’s preaching. After retiring from football, he decided to take a shot at baseball — a career shift, he said, “most people” believe won’t pay off. But to him, taking a shot is what matters because at least he can say, “I tried.”

“I get to look back at peace because I went all out, all the time,” he said.
