“Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond!” she shared. “This has just been a dream come true, with album and with baby news and all that stuff. We’re just so excited, and just so glad that you guys can share in this with us.”

In light of the joyful personal milestone, Underwood shared that her “Cry Pretty Tour 360” will kick off in May 2019.

The pregnancy news comes days after the “Cry Pretty” singer’s comments about wanting a big family triggered backlash on social media.

“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” Underwood told Redbook magazine. “We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older.”

Many people took offense to Underwood’s personal reflection on motherhood.

“Exactly how did Carrie Underwood miss her chance to have more kids? She’s 35 and has more $$ than she’ll ever need!” a Twitter user wrote.

“You need to know your window for having children is not closed,” wrote another. “The only thing stopping you is your decision to or not to. You can still have healthy children. 35 is not old, 35 is not too late, 35 is fine.”

Underwood and Fisher, who recently celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary, are parents to 3-year-old Isaiah.

The joyful news of their new addition comes after a particularly trying year. Last November, Underwood experienced a terrible fall that left her with a broken wrist and requiring 50 stitches in her face.

“I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful,” the singer said after the ordeal, which led to her cancelling multiple performances. “I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way. I am determined to make 2018 amazing… .”

With the release of her newest album and a new blessing on the way, it’s safe to say she did just that.
