NFL star Benjamin Watson took to Instagram Sunday to show how he and a few fellow players are starting the season off right by taking a knee — in prayer.

“Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. #MeetUsAtThe50,” the New Orleans Saints tight end captioned a photo of himself praying alongside fellow teammates and members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ahead of Sunday’s game.

The response to Watson’s post on social media was overwhelmingly positive.

“Now that’s when you take a knee!” one commenter wrote. “Imperfectly good righteous men leading by example: respect humility reverence and above all LOVE. Love beyond self for fellow man and God. May God bless these men for their faithfulness, their leadership and may their witness encourage others … .”

“That’s awesome!!” added another.

“Love seeing this,” another wrote. “If you put him first, everything will work itself out. I’m so glad you are back in New Orleans!”

Watson has always been bold about his faith on and off the field. The father of five has made a name for himself as a pro-life and pro-family activist, speaking at the 2017 March for Life and authoring “The New Dad’s Playbook,” a faith-filled guide to fatherly virtue.

Tampa Bay went on to beat New Orleans 48-40 on Sunday, but as Watson and his fellow players demonstrated, commitment to faith and virtue transcends politics, team rivalries and numbers on a scoreboard.
