An astonishing moment has been captured on camera showing a young girl tackling a group of thieves after they staged a robbery at their family home.
Brielle Minia Alba, 8, was playing outside her home in Cavite, Philippines, when a group of men approached the front driveway posing as DVD salesmen. Quickly, however, the situation turned very serious. As Brielle’s father exited his vehicle in the front driveway, the masked men held the family up at gunpoint and stole everything they could get their hands on.
But little Brielle wasn’t prepared to watch these cowardly men saunter off with all her family’s hard-earned cash, so she decided to jump one of the criminals.
Staggering footage obtained by the Daily Mail shows Alba launch herself at one of the robbers, as she attempts to wrangle back a stolen bag. She briefly managed to snatch the item out of the man’s hand, scattering the contents across the floor, before he returned to pull it away from her.
But Brielle wasn’t done yet. As the gang ran down to the road and mounted their motorbikes, the youngster threw herself at them once again, frantically trying to retrieve her family’s stolen possessions.
The criminals became increasingly frustrated by this tenacious little girl who was clearly determined to thwart their robbery. So, as they desperately endeavoured to mount a successful escape, they simply slammed into her with their motorbikes and brutally kicked her to the ground, breaking the youngster’s nose.
As other family members tried in vain to catch the robbers, Alba was left sitting beaten and bruised on the street. But don’t be mistaken, this little firecracker still had some fight in her. After spending two nights in hospital being treated for the injuries she sustained in the attack, Brielle declared: “I’ll get them next time.”
“I’m so angry they stole my daddy’s money,” she added. “If I ever see them again they’ll be sorry.”
“The money belonged to my family,” the brave little girl continued. “I wanted to help them. They worked hard for it.'”
While the family is incredibly proud of Brielle and her almost inconceivable courage in the face of grave danger, the girl’s aunt, Bhing, admitted that she is incredibly grateful to God that all the family escaped the attack relatively unscathed. “Thank God we were safe and all they took was money,” Bhing said.
“It’s just money that can be earned, now they can wait for karma. My niece is really brave.'”
Police believe that the robbery was pre-meditaed and planned for, noting that the robbers had clearly figured out the exact time Brielle’s father would be returning home from work.
“We have collected the CCTV from the family and we are studying the video footage to try to identify the offenders,” a spokesperson noted. “We’re also reviewing the previous days and other CCTV cameras in the area to see if the gang had shown up there before.”
Do pray for this brave young girl as she continues to recover from her ordeal.
