Most children have one or two prized possessions. Usually a cuddly toy, an item of clothing or a gift of sentimental value, these things can be a real nightmare to misplace or damage. But for a child with a disability, these precious items can be absolutely vital to their emotional wellbeing. Such is the case with Tristan Lee, who’s mom is making a desperate social media appeal for an identical replacement.

Tristan, a 10-year-old Indiana native, has bonded greatly with the blanket, but it is beginning to show signs of wear and tear. So, his mom Alicia took to Twitter for tips on where she could pick up another one.
“Okay Twitter, I need some help. I have a little guy who is [obsessed] with his blanket,” she wrote. “Yes, he is older..he is also disabled. I have searched ebay for years, with no luck. So, help? It is a plush throw originally sold at Kohls (almost positive).”

The story has since been picked up by “Good Morning America“, causing it to go viral across the country. “Summer or winter, and it’s a cape too,” Alicia told GMA. “He’s comforted by it and it helps calm him.”
With thousands of people on the hunt, it is surely just a matter of time before another throw is located.
“It needs to be an exact match,” Lee posted on Twitter. “I know that is frustrating, because so many blankets are really close. Thanks so much for looking.”
“When I say he won’t use another blanket, it means he would be cold without it,” Lee further explained to GMA. “It’s not just a lovey. And while I can currently keep sewing up rips and holes, one day that might not be possible.”
A few folks asked for more pictures of the blanket, so here is front and back.

Lee is convinced that the blanket was originally purchased from Kohl’s. They, along with others, have offered to send alternatives, but none of them are exactly the same as Tristan’s original.
“People are so kind and have offered a lot of alternatives,” Lee noted. “We have over two dozen throws we’ve tried over the years. I have made him blankets.”
Thank you @Kohls
He likes it. The search continues, but this is good. pic.twitter.com/hF7EZroQQ6— Ya know, Jolly Stuff (@AliciLee) December 12, 2018
