FedEx employee Amanda Riggan was busy going about her daily deliveries when the Lord led her to one heartbroken customer. Dropping off a package at the lady’s front door, Riggan asked how her Christmas was.
“I was like ‘How was your holidays?’ And with tears in her eyes, she said it wasn’t good,” the driver explained in an emotional video on Facebook. “She said, ‘He’s sick. My husband’s sick. He has cancer.’”

What happened next was nothing short of beautiful.
After admitting that she changed the subject to avoid an awkward interaction with the woman, Riggan pulled away in her van and tried to think nothing more of the encounter. It was at that moment, however, that the Lord pressed His compassion upon her heart, and she knew she had to act.
“My heart was pounding. I do probably twenty more stops and I have to go back,” Riggan recalled.

The hard-working young woman knew that to turn around and return to the woman’s house would eat into her tight delivery schedule. But she also knew that this was a sacrifice she should be willing to make in order to honor God and minister to others.
“I stopped what I was doing. I went back to that neighborhood and rang her doorbell,” she explained. “She came down the stairs, she had tears in her eyes when she saw it was me — she smiled, and I said ‘Ma’am can I pray with you?’ And she just broke down. She came out on the front porch and squeezed me so tight.”
“And I prayed for her and her husband,” Riggan said.
Clearly, the woman was comforted and ministered to in her grief, all because of Riggan’s willingness to obey the voice of God.
Towards the end of her video, the FedEx worker challenged others to do the same:
“I pray every day for the Lord to use me, but when He’s trying to use you or when you feel that call, and that tug on your heartstrings, do you move your feet? Do you move? ‘Cause I easily could have just went about the rest of my day. When you feel those tugs on your heartstrings, and you feel like you need to this, stop and do it.”
“If you’re praying for the Lord to help and to use you in people’s situations, when He is giving you a chance, do it,” Amanda urged. “Be sure you know what you’re praying for when you’re praying.”
Riggan’s video has been liked over 90,000 times and garnered over 240,000 shares. Clearly, it has impacted and challenged many.
“This is what we need in today’s world,” one person commented. “Don’t be afraid to act when God tugs at your heart. You will be blessed for obeying God. Keep up this good work.”
