It’s supposed to be funny, but a new ad campaign for frozen dinners is really just highlighting the seriousness of addiction and the dangers of pornography.

Devour Foods, owned by the Kraft Heinz Company, released an ad late last month promoting its frozen dinners. The commercials make fun of porn addiction.

Why are the ads so bad?

First of all, they’re just gross.

While the 30-second version, which will air during the Super Bowl this Sunday, doesn’t reference pornography, the one-minute commercial available online is far from subtle and is even supporting the pornography industry.

According to Fortune, Devour Foods ran ads Monday on one of the largest pornography websites on the internet. The ads read, “See hot food porn now.”

And despite the internet backlash the company has received for its provocative commercials, Devour Foods’ marketing team is far from backing down. This week, the brand tweeted out an even more inappropriate clip.

It’s hard to imagine a company would create an ad mocking opioid addition or alcoholism, yet that’s exactly what the Kraft Heinz Company brand has done with pornography.

Pornography consumption in the U.S. has reached epidemic levels.

America Has a Serious Porn Problem — It’s Worse Than You Think

The average age of exposure to pornography is 11 years old. According to recently compiled data, there are 28,258 people consuming some kind of pornographic material every second and roughly 40 million Americans — men and women — regularly visit pornography websites.

On top of all that, $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography every second, and with its latest ad campaign, Devour Foods is adding to the pornography profit.

What can you do if you’re struggling?

If you or someone you know is dealing with a crippling addiction to pornography, Faithwire recently launched an e-course called “Set Free.” The seven-week video study offers participants practical and spiritual tools by teaching healthy sexuality, encouraging accountability and promoting biblical community.

Struggling with an addiction to pornography is no longer unique, especially when we have a society and culture that takes such a serious issue and normalizes it.
