An Arkansas high school student has been praised for his wonderful dedication and kindness after he spent two years saving up enough money to help out his disabled classmate. Tanner Wilson worked part-time at a mechanic shop for two years in order to gather the cash he needed to purchase a motorized wheelchair for his friend, Brandon Qualls.

Qualls had been making his way around the hallways of Caddo Hills High School for years using a manual wheelchair but was becoming weary from the strenuous work.

“My arms would get really tired,” Qualls told KTHV-TV. “I would have to stop and take rests.”

Noticing this, Wilson decided he would put the entirety of his small earnings aside to help out his classmate.

“I wanted to do him a favor,” the compassionate young man explained. “I just felt like I needed to do it and I wanted to do it… Brandon, he’s just always been there for me.”

Finally, Wilson accumulated enough money to purchase the chair off Facebook Marketplace. On Feb. 26, in front of the entire class, he presented the gift to his friend.

“They came in and my face just blew up,” Qualls told KWTV-DT. “I was just crying everywhere. I was like, ‘Wow I can’t believe he did that for me.’”

“It’s been my dream to just have one of these,” he added. “And my dream came true.”

Though it takes a pretty unique high-schooler to think to do something so selfless, Wilson’s mother, Colleen, said that it did not surprise her one bit.

“That’s him,” she told CNN. “He’s always been about everybody else and not himself. We let him know, you get nowhere being mean.”

“He loves to do for others,” added Tanner’s teacher, Kathy Baker. “He is just a great young man.”

Another teacher, Ginger Wray, even helped out with the wonderful gift by designing a flame illustration that borders each side of the wheelchair. The amazing mobility vehicle is even personalized with “Qualls” emblazoned across the back of the head-rest.

“It’s awesome,” Brandon told KWTV of his new mode of transportation.

“I may hit a few doors,” he laughed, “but it’s worth it.”

God bless this wonderfully generous young man!
