We’ve gone from “safe, legal, and rare” to “magical.”

There was a time when progressive politicians sought to downplay their support of abortion access. But in 2019, it’s no longer a hush-hush position; it’s the stuff out of which candidacies are built. Let us not forget Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) promised only days ago to wear a Planned Parenthood scarf during her inauguration, should she be elected president.

So it should come as no surprise organizations like the pro-abortion group Texas Equal Access Fund is celebrating the legality of pregnancy termination with prayer candles bearing the three-word message, “Abortions are magical.”

Getting our holiday party favors ready! Every year we honor our volunteers and make sure they get a token of appreciation at our annual holiday party.

Staffers with the abortion advocacy group are handing out the unicorn-clad candles to their volunteers as “holiday party favors.”

Why are abortions “magical” now?

The TEA Fund explained in a separate post that the mission is to reframe abortion so it is not as stigmatized for women in the future.

“Abortions are magical for most people who have them and refuting that just increases stigma around abortion,” the post read in part. “They are health care, self care, and community care.”

If you're wondering why we use the language we use, here's more context: Abortions are an option for people who don’t…

“We are proud to help people access abortion care and support them through the process,” the post continued. “Regardless of age, race, gender, extenuating circumstance, income, sexuality, or ability, if it is their decision, we support them.”

What has the reaction been?

While those in the pro-abortion camp have, of course, appreciated the message on the TEA Fund candles, those in the pro-life community are none too pleased with the brazen slogan.

One writer for the Daily Caller, Mary Olohan, called the gift “absolutely sick.”

The pro-life group March for Life invited workers with the TEA Fund to attend the 2020 March for Life event, “where they will hear about the beauty of life [and] how being pro-life is pro-woman, as well as hear the testimonies of women [and] men who regret having been involved in abortion.”

We'd like to extend an invitation to Texas Equal Access to the 2020 March for Life where they will hear about the beauty of life & how being pro-life is pro-woman, as well as hear the testimonies of women & men who regret having been involved in abortion. https://t.co/bhYKueI42t

Lila Rose, president of the pro-life advocacy group Live Action, told the Daily Caller, “Abortion is not ‘magical,’ abortion is murder. Abortion is the violent destruction of a defenseless human child by ripping apart, poisoning, or suctioning them to death.”
