President Joe Biden gave his first solo press conference since taking office 65 days ago, and reaction has been mixed.

Some of the moments gaining the most attention from the conference:

The moment Biden lost his train of thought and abandoned it mid-sentence was highlighted by many:

So… @JoeBiden's press conference is going just about how you'd expect. pic.twitter.com/8V7stcpueW

He also went on a bit of a tangent at one point in the conference and began raising his voice randomly in the middle of his thought. Watch:

One of the weirdest parts of the press conference was when @JoeBiden started randomly yelling at very random points in a completely unnecessary manner. pic.twitter.com/Bnxjz0vARm

He was also asked about whether or not he would run for re-election:

President Biden: "My plan is to run for reelection. That's my expectation."

He touted getting “100 million shots” into the arms of Americans, even though the Trump administration was already on pace to achieve that goal before Biden took office.

President Biden: "We will by my 100th day in office have administered 200 million shots in people's arms."

And the gaffe that has received a lot of attention was when Biden said he came into the Senate 120 years ago:

When asked about if his rhetoric is causing people to flood the border accused President Trump of allowing kids to starve at the border.

Biden on whether his rhetoric encourages migrants to cross the border: "The idea that I'm going to say…if an unaccompanied child ends up at the border, we're just going to let him starve to death…no previous administration did that either, except Trump. I'm not gonna do it." pic.twitter.com/sH2Z2gC4ZH

He also said the GOP makes “Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle” because of “voter suppression” bills:

Needless to say, the conference drew a lot of commentary from both sides of the aisle.

Conservative commentator Candace Owens expressed concern over Biden’s ability to communicate and said “are we supposed to feign surprise when Biden announces that he’s stepping down as President to deal with health issues?” in a tweet.

Are we supposed to feign surprise when Biden announces that he’s stepping down as President to deal with health issues, or can we all honestly acknowledge that installing Kamala Harris was their plan all along?

Because I’m going to need time to work on my fake-surprised face.

Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh questioned the wisdom in electing older candidates:

Maybe we might want to think about not electing anymore 75+ year olds to the presidency? Just a thought

— Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) March 25, 2021

Fox News host Kennedy critiqued the press as being “soft” in their questioning.

These questions are 1500 thread count soft. #bidenpressconference

Over on the other side of the aisle, Daily Beast reporter Wajahat Ali said he thought Biden did “fine” and “actually understands the issues.”

Did Biden promote Russian talking points, conspiracy theories, deliberately lie, mock the press to their face, say racist stuff, spend an hour praising himself? No? Wonderful. That's what we had with Trump. Biden did fine and actually understands the issues. #bidenpressconference

Max Boot called Biden’s press conference “crisp” and showed “he is fully in command of the issues.”

The dominant narrative from the right wing industrial complex is that Biden is senile and being manipulated by shadowy leftists.

It’s a charge so crazy it doesn’t deserve refutation. But Biden’s crisp press conference shows he is fully in command of the issues.
