Pop star Demi Lovato — who began identifying as “non-binary” in May — announced this week she might eventually “identify as trans.”

The “Dancing With the Devil” singer revealed in March she identifies as “pansexual.” Then, in April, she cut her hair to, in her words, break free of the “gender and sexuality” norms imposed on her by Christian and southern culture.

Lovato, who uses the pronouns “they” and “them,” announced she might one day transition, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“There might be a time when I identify as trans,” she said. “I don’t know what this looks like for me. There might be a time where I identify as non-binary and gender-noncomforming my entire life. Or maybe there’s a period of time when I get older that I identify as a woman. I don’t know what that looks like, but, for me, in this moment right now, this is how I identify.”

The entertainer said she learned more about her own sexual and gender identity through her since-failed relationship with actor Max Ehrich.

“I met someone and I got into this straight relationship and that was great,” she said. “But that led me to ignoring all the parts of myself that I didn’t think were digestible for my partner at the time, who ended up becoming my fiancé.”

Earlier this year, Lovato opened up to podcast host Joe Rogan about wanting children, but noted at the time she’s not sure if she will ever end up being with a man romantically because she’s “so fluid now.”

“Part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was, like, super closeted off,” she told Rogan, who asked: “You mean sexually fluid? You like girls? You like boys?”

“Yeah, anything, really,” responded Lovato.
