Actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) believes heaven is a “fantasy.”

The 75-year-old celebrity — a native of Austria — kicked the proverbial door wide open for “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt, a Christian, to share the Gospel with his father-in-law.

Schwarzenegger made the comments during a discussion with fellow actor Danny DeVito, who asked, “What’s in the future for us?” The question came as the pair spoke with Interview magazine.

“It reminds me of Howard Stern’s question to me,” the “Terminator” star said. “[He asked], ‘Tell me, governor, what happens to us when we die?’ I said, ‘Nothing; you’re six feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a [expletive] liar.”

“I said, ‘We don’t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I’m not an expert in — but I know that the body as we see each other now, we will never see each other again like that,” Schwarzenegger continued.

He added, “When people talk about, ‘I will see them again in heaven,’ it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won’t see each other again after we’re gone. That’s the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don’t.”

Pratt, who is married to Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine, has been open about his Christian faith.

In April, during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe star spoke about his salvation and meeting the former governor’s eldest daughter — two major life events that unfolded in quick succession. The two married in 2019 and now share two children together.

Then, in May, Pratt, who also shares a daughter with ex-wife Anna Faris, pointed his critics to Scripture.

“That’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know,” he said of the condemnation he faces because of his Christian beliefs. “If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but, as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world; that’s John 15:18-20. That’s the way it is, nothing new. Two-thousand years ago, they hated [Jesus], too.”

Katherine Schwarzenegger said in 2020 faith plays a “huge” role in her marriage to Pratt.

“I grew up with faith being a huge part of my family’s life, as well,” she explained on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” “[Faith] is a huge part of the forgiveness process and healing process in life in general, so, if you are able to have [faith] to rely on and lean on, it’s a great gift.”

Perhaps the elder Schwarzenegger’s admission about his belief — or lack thereof — in an afterlife gives Pratt and his wife the perfect inroad into sharing the truth of Scripture with him.
