Evangelical pastor Ché Ahn has officially launched his bid to become California’s next governor — a dramatic departure from the policies and leadership style of current Gov. Gavin Newsom.

In an interview with CBN News, Ahn framed his campaign around faith and service: “For me, Jesus is my Lord. And He was a servant leader. I want to lay down my life and serve all of California.”
His campaign website underscores that conviction, citing Romans 13: “Government is instituted by God to uphold justice and restrain evil. When a government inverts that mandate—punishing the righteous while protecting the lawless—it abdicates its moral authority. God commands us to treat the sojourner with compassion and dignity. But there is a clear difference between a lawful immigrant seeking refuge and an invader who despises our laws and engages in criminal violence.”
CBN’s Raj Nair sat down with Ahn to discuss his relationship with Charlie Kirk, his faith-driven vision for leadership, and California’s controversial AB 495.
