Gospel artist Donnie McClurkin has been involved in a serious car accident after “losing consciousness” at the wheel. The “Great is Your Mercy” singer posted an update to Facebook from his hospital bed, in which he thanked the “two human angels” who allegedly helped save his life.
“Was in a serious accident at 12:50am this morning…passed out while driving on the highway. Totaled the car…hospitalized, going through a myriad of tests….. But I’m alive!!!” he wrote Wednesday.

McClurkin continued to describe what he is convinced were two angelic beings who supposedly followed his car “with their emergency blinkers” to stop traffic from hurtling into the unconscious singer:
“Lost consciousness driving…but two human angels followed my swerving car with their emergency blinkers onto stop traffic ….drove behind me until my car crashed into the middle concrete island. I remember none of it except those two angels pulling me out of the passengers side of the crumbled TOTALED car..airbags deployed…crushed metal and Fiberglas!!
I AM ALIVE!!!!”
The three-time Grammy award winner said he was “Somewhat mangled” following the accident, and was left with “stitches on left thumb, sprained wrist, hurt knee.”
“But I’m still here!” he declared. “God and two angels saved my life! I am still here by the grace of God! Thank you, Lord…thank you!”
Since the accident, the 58-year-old has experienced an outpouring of support and well-wishes on his social media accounts.
“Listen old man we need you. Get your self a chauffeur,” one person wrote.
“We love u. In 2009, God used you through one of your worship songs to minister to me in one of the darkest days of my life. Through that experience I came to Christ and now I am a pastor,” wrote another.
Pray that Donnie makes a full and speedy recovery!
