Police were on the scene responding to a call about a counterfeit $20 bill being used at a store and that call ultimately led to the tragic and shocking death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who did not appear to be resisting arrest when an officer put his knee on the neck of Floyd until he passed out.

While the maneuver is technically a legal one approved by the police department of Minneapolis, the officer in the video appeared to continue to apply pressure for some time even after Floyd passed out, causing his eventual death.

Multiple videos showing the lead up to the tragic end also appear to show Floyd in handcuffs, which makes the need for so many officers a head scratcher.

Protestor’s anger boiled over and turned into looting and vandalism as a Target and Autozone were both trashed, looted, and burned. Protests spilled into other cities such as Houston,

Franklin Graham spoke out against the death of the unarmed black man, saying it made him “sick to my stomach” and that the action was “inexcusable.” Christian Rapper Lecrae called it “pure unadulterated evil” and encouraged people to use the anger they are feeling “to be constructive” through prayer and policy change. President Trump also promised swift action and an investigation into the “very sad” death and said, “justice will be served.”
