Chick-fil-A has once again gone above and beyond the call of duty after preparing some 500 chicken sandwiches for weary police officers who had been responding to the mass shooting in Odessa, Texas.

When the management at Chick-fil-A Odessa, University Blvd, received news that a gunman had been on a rampage through the streets of their city, they allowed employees the choice to close early and go and be with their loved ones.

Instead, employees teamed up with another Chick-fil-A branch and prepared 500 sandwiches for the brave men and women in blue.

“Absolutely blown away by this amazing team of people,” the Odessa restaurant posted on Facebook. “After heartbreaking events in our community today we planned to close early and send our team home to be with their families. As they were walking out of the restaurant an opportunity to feed local law enforcement presented its self and they were given the option to help…not one person said no. Partnering with Chick-fil-A Odessa Town Center they cooked 500 sandwiches and packaged them with the most joyful hearts and a lot of love.”

The outlet went on to issue prayers for all those involved and declared its utter pride in the character of those working at the popular eatery.

“Sometimes light in a dark world looks as simple as a hot chicken sandwich,” it continued. “We just couldn’t be prouder of these helpers and their hearts of gold. Grateful is not an adequate word to express how we feel about all of our brave First Responders, they are true heroes. We are praying for our community in the days ahead and for all of those impacted by this tragedy.”

Many on Facebook replied to the post, showing their appreciation for the wonderfully kind gesture.

“What a great company!” one person wrote. “All those kids won’t work at Chick-Fil-A forever. But the lessons they learn while they are there are invaluable. Thank you for setting the example. Many prayers for those affected and to the first responders.”

“Chick-fil-A is an amazing company and somehow finds the most amazing individuals to work for them,” another added. “We have always had wonderful experiences no matter what state we may be in. Thank you for what y’all did.”

The restaurant has become well-known for its speedy service and for hiring staff members who go out of their way to ensure that customer service is at the highest possible level.

Recently, Christian comedian John Crist remarked, in his signature style, just how incredibly efficient Chick-Fil-A’s drive-thru is:

Indeed, the incredible service delivery, the thoughtful employee benefits, and the faith-filled customer service continue to pay off for the company, which continues to post market-leading sales figures. The chain is now the fifth-largest fast-food company in the US, according to new data released by Goldman Sachs last month.

Incredibly, despite closing every Sunday, the specialty chicken outlet has managed to generate over double the sales revenue of its well-known competitor, McDonald’s.
