Fox News host Shannon Bream is on a mission to show the powerful lessons the Bible’s heroes teach us all.
Her new book, “Nothing Is Impossible with God: Eleven Heroes. One God. Endless Lessons in Overcoming,” explores some of these stories in great detail, with Bream carefully selecting each journey.

“I wanted to really devote some time to them because they all have this thread of overcoming,” she told CBN News of the 11 biblical figures she chose for the book. “And sometimes, it’s external things coming at them, sometimes it’s their own internal rebellion. We’ve all dealt with that. Maybe it’s self-doubt, maybe it’s fear, maybe it’s loneliness.”
Underscoring the timelessness of the Bible, Bream added that “all of these things they had to overcome are very applicable for 2026.” With that in mind, she set out to bring “Nothing Is Impossible With God” to life. For a long time, Bream had collected stories and outlined what a book like this might look like.
“These stories have always resonated with me with that common thread of overcoming something,” she said. “So I thought I want to include ones that do come from across the spectrum … because I think they’re all just so relatable to things that we walk through now.”
She continued, “Maybe we’re not going to be Gideon actually leading an army into battle. It may feel like that sometimes, though, with what you have going on in life. But … whether it’s a financial battle, a broken family, you know, a bad diagnosis, the death of a loved one. I mean, all of those things are never a surprise to God. And I think He gives us the grace of seeing other people walk through those things.”
Ultimately, Bream wants to bring encouragement to others through seeing those things unfold and applying the lessons to their own lives. One of the most compelling elements of Scripture, Bream said, is the fact that the Bible includes people’s bruises and mistakes — not just perfect or pleasant moments.
“You think about Moses, and we know he was the writer of what’s known as the Torah, or those first five books of the Old Testament,” Bream said. “So every time he’s talking about his own failures, I have to stop and remind myself, ‘Moses was writing this. He was writing this down and saying, like, this is where I got this wrong. This is where I disobeyed. This is where I argued with God.'”
She said she loves the “truth” shared in these stories, going on to mention the same dynamic with Peter in the New Testament — one of Jesus’ disciples who infamously denies Christ three times. Peter’s own struggles became evident when he realized he had betrayed Jesus.
“Peter [is] what the early church was built on; he was the rock,” Bream continued. “Christ had renamed him the rock. And he goes on to be a powerful, powerful witness and a martyr himself. So I just think there’s so much we can draw from all of these stories.”
Bream also encouraged people to turn to prayer in their own lives, likening it to a “personal conversation” — one that can be engaged in traffic, in the shower, while cooking or while doing any other activity.
“[Just] knowing He’s listening to that, it doesn’t have to be formal,” she said. “You don’t have to be sitting in a pew. … God is just waiting to be in conversation with you anytime.”
